Hallo everyone, I know it
has been long, but just pardon me,I am back, I believe this time forever.Now
the national youth week just started yesterday and I want us to celebrate the
youths, young people that are bringing change in our society and with me, I
specifically celebrate those from my county,Taita Taveta.
I start off with a lady I
truly admire,a lady who is a go getter,I just admire her zeal and passion in
community work,and oh yes, this is none other than Milka Righa a 32 year old
mother and wife.

She is a public servant,an influencer,a public speaker, mentor and a person who is passionate about transformation of communities;protection of children, empowerment of youth and women and citizen participation.
Milka holds a a Bed
(First class hons) from Kenyatta university;she has just completed her master
of arts (gender,education and international development) at one of the world’s
renowned universities, university college London (UCL) under a commonwealth scholarship
and also completing her MBA-Strategic Management at Taita Taveta University.

You are probably asking more about this gem, yes just
relax,she is the the head of Hansard Department of the County Assembly of Taita
Taveta.
She is also the Founder and Executive director of Happy Children Initiative, a local CBO on children’s rights and empowerment of young people. Through the CBO she has managed to touch children’s lives; helped sick children to get medication; put school dropouts back to school; assisted children who have been abused and ran campaigns against child abuse. as CEO she has also given children in children’s homes life experiences outside the homes by taking them on road trips and game drives.

Milka has also mentored children in many schools as well
as partnered with other people and organizations to offer youth mentorship and
trainings within the County.
Milka Righa also founded the Taita Taveta Professional
Women’s Forum this year, which she chairs an Association whose main objective
is to empower the women of Taita Taveta County through its 3 pillars-
networking, mentorship and Empowerment.

For several months now,Milka has embarked on youth
trainings in several wards within the county.
Milka is a YALI East Africa Fellow and an alumnus of the Hague Academy for Local Governance, Netherlands, where she underwent training on Citizen Participation and Inclusive Governance in March this year, through the Talent for Governance Scholarship.one is appreciating you girl,i am,and some thousand others,you are inspiring.
